The juice on Succulent Café

Since this gorgeous lifestyle shop-cum-eatery opened its doors it hasn’t had a moment’s peace.

At Succulent Café the only time you can do the impromptu thing is on a Monday and a Tuesday, from Wednesday to Sunday you have to book in advance because it is completely full.

You’ll see why when you do breakfast or lunch there; the menu is deliciously eclectic and the interior is reminiscent of the witch’s sugar-frosted candy house in Hansel and Gretel… yummy.

Early birds should try the French Toast America, which is served as a sandwich filled with mozzarella and bacon, and drizzled with maple and mustard syrup with fried banana on the side. For lunch, try Fancy Pants – ground beef bobotie phyllo rolls with farmstyle chutney – or prawn fish cakes done Asian style and topped with two grilled prince prawns, avocado and fresh tomato salsa.

The real magic, however, is at the pizza oven. Try the Bejoux, which is topped with mozzarella, spring onion and capers and finished with crème fraiche, smoked salmon and caviar. The enchanting pizza oven is decked out in a mosaic of whimsical pink hearts and butterflies… you just don’t get better than that.
