Steenberg Vineyards is opening a new bistro towards the end of 2009, aptly named 1682, commemorating the founding year of the estate.
Chef Brad Ball (left), previously of River Cafe at Constantia Uitsig and legendary Olympia Cafe in Kalk Bay, will take the reins at the 70-seater bistro. In addition to the modern bistro menu to be offered, the restaurant’s Raw Bar with its counter seating will specialise in sashimi, gravadlax, ceviche, carpaccio, oysters and tartars.
