The annual Fairtrade Fortnight, which kicks off on Monday 30 March and wraps up on Sunday 12 April 2015, is bigger and better than ever. This year’s theme, ‘The Power of You’, aims to educate and inspire the new generation to recognise the power they have to change the world by doing something as simple as purchasing Fairtrade products.

Gracing everything from wine bottles to coffee and chocolate, the Fairtrade stamp is a promise that these products have been ethically and sustainably produced. You can rest assured that any product carrying the Fairtrade certification mark has met strict standards and actively promotes methods of farming that uplift both people and the environment.

So what can you do to support Fairtrade Fortnight 2015?

Pick n Pay Fairtrade Promotion

Earn double points on your SmartShopper card whenever you purchase a Fairtrade product for the duration of the campaign (30 March to 12 April 2015). This offer is valid at Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Snap a selfie and win with Facebook

Take a superhero-style selfie with your favourite Fairtrade product and post it to the Fairtrade Facebook page to enter. If your shot lands in the top ten pictures, you will be entered into a draw to win a weekend away for two in Cape Town; a Fairtrade wine-tasting experience; a Fairtrade hamper; and the opportunity to feature in their ‘The Power of You’ video.

Celebrate Fairtrade at The Taste of Cape Town

The Fairtrade Fortnight culminates in a celebration of some of the country’s finest food at the Taste of Cape Town festival. Taking place from 10 to 12 April at the Green Point Cricket Club, the festival offers attendees the chance to meet Fairtrade producers, learn about the impact of Fairtrade goods, and taste some delicious food.
