Frozen-dessert fans, meet Eish Kream, the mobile ice-cream company that’s now swirling pastel-coloured spaghetti ice cream in sunny Durban. The Eish Kream team, which first popped up at 8 Morrison Street down in Durban’s Rivertown district, is currently tackling KZN’s sweet tooth at events and pop-ups, and will soon appear at local food stores with this trendy treat.
The mobile ice-cream bar, has been developing and researching her Eish Kream product over the last 12 months alongside food technologists and flavour specialists. The team have also joined forces with an Italian company to ensure that they have the best equipment possible to create the squiggles of this cold-pressed dessert. When serving, the clever machine processes the churned mixture to create swirls of spaghetti-shaped ice cream.
While Eish Kream is currently serving this icy treat at weddings and food markets across Durban, they were also recently spotted in Gauteng, and have since started producing boxes of the ice cream.
There are currently 10 flavours from which to choose, more in the pipeline. Try chocolate, café latte, strawberries and cream, Nutella, sweet cream, and Lotus Biscoff cookies in your choice of a cone, cup, or nifty take-home box. The boxes are currently stocked at 10 stores in Johannesburg and Durban ( with Cape Town coming soon).
To find out when and where the Eish Kream team will be popping up next, or when the spaghetti ice cream will launch in a store near you, follow them on Facebook. And, keep an eye out for the first spaghetti Eish Kream Café to open in Durban soon.
