In the heart of Cape Town, where the urban buzz meets the majesty of Table Mountain, a new rooftop tequila bar beckons cocktail connoisseurs and those on the hunt for stunning views.
Rita’s Cocktail Club is a fresh addition to the city’s blossoming bar scene and promises to be one of this season’s summer hotspots for anyone seeking a great time and a top-notch margarita.

“Rita’s was born from the desire to create an urban oasis,” shares the team behind the new venture. The aim? To provide a place where guests can unwind and savour delicious cocktails while enjoying panoramic views from the (two!) rooftop balconies.
The name Rita’s was carefully chosen to evoke a sense of femininity. Derived from the name Margarita, it’s a moniker that not only pays homage to classic cocktails, but also adds a personal touch to the space – as if you’re visiting a friend’s bar.

Rita’s offers a diverse drinks menu. In addition to timeless classics, you’ll find a collection of signature cocktails like the Clarified Margarita, a blend of Avión Blanco, Cointreau, clarified citrus, and ethereal lime air.
While cocktails take centre stage, they also offer a small food menu consisting of canapé-style tacos – the perfect complement to tequila-based drinks. Rita’s even has a glass index, a clever tool that helps you make informed cocktail choices. It provides insights into the volume and strength of each cocktail, which allows for a more personalised experience.
“We also have an extensive tequila listing, some of which are only available by the bottle. If you would like to try a particular tequila that is only available by the bottle and don’t finish the bottle that you’ve purchased, we can wax seal it for you and store it in our bottle keep cabinet for your next visit.”
The design and décor, thoughtfully curated by KT Interiors, elevate the space to an aesthetic that imbues a seductive and moody ambience. Think plush seating, warm low lighting and a colour palette dominated by deep, rich hues, with accents of gold. The bar is a focal feature and will lure you in its endless soundtrack of cocktails being shaken. It dominates the space with its feminine-esque curved arc shape and provides plenty of space to watch the mixologists in action.
Rita’s is situated at 22 Kloof Street and will be open from 4.30pm to 2am, Tuesday to Saturday.
