The food is said to be traditional Turkish food and is all made on the premises. There is a variety of kebabs, wraps and dips on offer, as well as a couple of desserts.
The sizes of the starters and brinjal salad are small for at a price of R25 each. The hummus and brinjal salad were a good combination, however, the cacik (Turkish tzatziki) was under-seasoned and lacked flavour.
For mains, the kebabs and other items are perfect for sharing. Most of the dishes are served with very good flatbread, rice and fire-roasted peppers and onions. The shish kebab was spicy and flavourful, but the presentation was not up to standard, as was the case with the other dishes ordered.
The wraps are the best thing on the menu – crispy rolled flatbread with a filling of your choice for R60. They’re very substantial and worth every cent. However, the beyti kebab – a garlic mince “sausage” roasted on an open flame – (like the kofte) was a bit dry.
For dessert, both the kunefe and baklava were overpriced at R60 a portion, lacked substance and were overly sweet.
There are cooldrinks, lassis, Appletizers and sparkling water on offer.
No alcohol is served at the restaurant, but there is a restaurant/bar next door where you can have your meal if you want to order alcohol.
The service was fast, but the staff are untrained and not dressed professionally.
The seating is more suitable for a warm sunny day.
There was a fireplace, however, it was not in use and wand hasn’t been cleaned. There is a courtyard, which is open to the elements, and is still under construction.
