This family-run venue opened its doors just as Covid hit and has had a tough few years.
They aim to be a local favourite with a focus on the community and there is also a small B&B on the property.
Expect casual food without any fuss. The menu is extremely small so there are not many dishes to choose from. For starters, they are well known for their creamy garlic snails, which are absolutely delicious, but they’re served with untoasted store-bought brown bread, which lets the dish down a bit.
The crumbed fried mushrooms with cheese sauce are also a good option, and are served with chips.
For mains, the ribs are a must, they’re basted in a sweet, sticky, finger-licking sauce. Another great choice for mains is the quarter or half chicken served with lemon-and-herb or peri-peri sauce.

It’s succulent, tender and full of flavour. For dessert, there are limited options of ice cream with chocolate or strawberry sauce, or the dessert of the day.
The food is great value for money and the mains are very tasty with large portion sizes, however there are limited vegetarian options.
The drinks on offer are limited. There’s a handful of wines to choose from, which are all middle of the range and not of notable quality, but they are reasonably priced.

You are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food arrived in a timeous manner and the staff are all neatly dressed.
The venue has a peaceful atmosphere with a river nearby. The interior is decorated in a country theme with a few fireplaces indoors to create a warm and cosy feeling in winter.
The furniture is very comfortable and the acoustics are good, however there is no music playing to create a vibe inside.
