Food

The menu changes with each season, bringing with it continually innovative ways of presenting time-honoured traditional Nguni dishes. The ucurry namazambane is a standout dish, and creatively delivered. In winter the lamb, samp and beans is a hug on a plate, offering comforting warmth. The isijingi (sweet pumpkin porridge) is a gorgeous end to the meal and a clever take on the mainstay Nguni breakfast dish.

Chef Mmabatho Molefe continues to surprise and delight with her inventive cooking methods and decidedly sophisticated presentation of simple dishes like butter-basted ox liver or samp and beans. The food is considered, carefully and respectfully prepared, and downright delicious.

Drinks

The drinks menu is limited, with only a few local wines on offer, but they all suit the menu well.

Service

The service is attentive but never overbearing. The kitchen staff work quietly and professionally. Each course is explained in great detail by the warm and knowledgeable host.

Ambience

Though the atmosphere isn’t very lively, you’re unlikely to notice it. This experience is all about the food.
