Food

Emily Moon is where luxury meets the humble heart of Africa, you can’t help but feel special and ease right into the experience carefully curated for the guest’s ultimate enjoyment.

There are plenty of delicious and attractive sounding dishes to choose from, ranging from classics and crowd pleasers to a few modern twists on traditional favourites by means of bringing in local South African flavours.

These are subtly woven throughout the menu in dishes like ‘Whole roasted baby cabbage and cauliflower with chickpea Chakalaka and baby vegetables’ and ‘Butter chicken samosas with dhaniya chutney and micro herbs.

A highlight on the menu is definitely ‘The Rack of lamb and Springbok boerewors with garden ratatouille tart’, which did not disappoint, prepared with a perfectly seared crust and blushing pink tender centre, there is not much more you can ask for!  Be sure to save space for the simply dreamy chocolate fondant, executed with every bit of skill a perfect fondant so dauntingly requires.

Drinks

An impressive wine list showcasing majority of Local South African wines and stating the region of each wine farm next to the wine, which is a nice touch. The prices are also well considered to suit a variety of budgets and promises to leave everyone satisfied.

The cocktails are also something to look out for, especially with the view looking over the Bitou river, it really is the perfect sundowner piece of paradise.

Service

The overall experience from the positive and warm demeanour of the service and staff, to the proudly South African menu and simply breath-taking scenery really make this a beautiful eating out experience.

A lovely experience, from the booking all the way through to when one is welcomed, seated and looked after through out the meal. The staff have a wonderful positive demeanour and a good work ethic, while being attentive but not over bearing.

Ambience

Emily Moon is the ultimate sundowner experience along the Garden Route and should not be missed. Be sure to book your table just in time to watch the sun sink behind the Bitou River valley and enjoy one of their many delicious cocktails.
