Form an orderly queue, Cape Town foodies. A croquette bar going by the name of Davy Croquettes is opening its doors in Gardens this Saturday, 2 September.
Named after chef David Titley, who has worked at restaurants such as Black Sheep and Hometown, Davy Croquettes is promising a different take on the traditional croquette concept with a range of interesting, seasonal flavours that will be served daily at an intimate bar situated in Lubelle Court on Scott Street.
The dedicated croquette menu will feature market-style bites of the delicious golden snack with fresh flavour combos such as butternut, blue cheese and feta; date, bacon and blue cheese; and chorizo, almond and harissa. You will also be able to purchase frozen croquettes to heat up and serve at your next cocktail party, or for those late-night munchies. As a sweet ending, there will also be some home-made date balls made with dark chocolate and goji berries.
As for the look and feel of the eatery, expect classic black-and-white interiors with touches of green and natural wooden accents, plus a small outdoor seating area with views of Table Mountain.
Davy Croquettes is set to launch on Saturday 2 September and from then on will be open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
