Peter Tempelhoff, chef-patron of FYN Restaurant in Cape Town, has just announced that he will be opening a new restaurant in the Constantia winelands. Beyond, as it will be called, is set to open its doors at Buitenverwachting within the next few weeks.

Situated in one of Buitenverwachting’s original thatch buildings that forms part of the historic wine estate, Beyond will be taking the space of the original restaurant previously headed up by Edgar Osojnik. The new restaurant, which will offer an a la carte menu, will now be headed up by chef Julia du Toit (also of FYN) along with Nicholas Walker (previously of The Shortmarket Club) as manager. Peter shared the exciting news on his social media: “I am in the fortunate position to announce that through all the trials and tribulations of 2020, we are able to create 25 new jobs.”
While the finer details are yet to be revealed, the FYN chef did share a sneak preview on Instagram: “I have decided to keep my cards close to my chest on this one but will be revealing things very soon. All I can say is that it is going to be completely different to FYN restaurant but just as awesome!” He also added: “The key to a successful restaurant (food and service aside) is location, location, location – plus local support! And this space has both in heaps!”

While we wait in anticipation for more details, Peter also revealed that bookings for the restaurant will open on 28 November and can be made via info@beyondrestaurant.co.za.
