Over the weekend of 25 to 27 November 2016, Design Quarter in Fourways will launch its first-ever exclusive Portobello Festival, featuring outdoor living inspiration, delicious tapas and gourmet pastries, and the latest summer décor trends for 2017.

Shoppers who visit the market can look forward to in-store surprises as well as fresh produce, tasters and tapas, arts and crafts, décor, art, fragrant herbs and flowers, and Méthode Cap Classique and sparkling wines.

The festival will be held on Friday 25 November from 11am to 8pm, on Saturday 26 November from 10am to 8pm, and on Sunday 27 November from 10am to 4pm.

Exhibitors include Moët & Chandon, Belvedere Vodka and Maverick & Jane Gourmet Popcorn, Sugarlicious ice-cream macaron sandwiches, and you can look forward to decadent sweets like gourmet waffles, French crêpes, croissants, brioches, pains aux chocolat and churros. Sugarlicious macaroon ice-cream sandwiches from Durban, an Italian cheesemaker, and Patachou French patisserie, one of the only proper French patisseries in South Africa, will also exhibit at the festival.

Fans will be pleased to hear that their favourite fashion and lifestyle brands will be there too, including Tiffany Lamps, Bespoke Jewellery, 5th Avenue Jewellery, True – Black and Gold Fashion (Cape Town), cashmere scarves from Kashmir (Cape Town), Cerameek (Cape Town), Rosehip bags and hats, Ronelle Ernst Décor, and purveyors of items like bamboo watches, pool pillows and leather bags.

But that’s not all. Many of the Design Quarter tenants are participating in the festival too, including Woolworths, Granny Goose, Private House, Redman Fine Art, Biggie Best, Willowbrook Cotton, Sotran, Bakos Brothers, Coricraft and Cottonwood.

A live broadcast of Carrie Adams’s weekly wine-and-food programme, Classic Wine, on Classic FM will be hosted in the Food Piazza on Friday 25 November to enrich the shopping experience.
