Want to know more about the wines you’ll (hopefully!) be sharing with your loved one?
Excelsior Viognier 2018
This is a varietal from the Rhone Valley in France. These grapes flourish in the sun and need to be fully ripe for their exotic flavours to be fully expressed. In this wine you’ll find subtle flavours of lemon, and peaches linger on a complex palate. Full-bodied elegance makes this a wine of substance.
Hoopenburg Integer MCC Brut
A classic bubbly with a contemporary bite. Made in the traditional method used to make champagne, this 100% chardonnay MCC will complement a wide range of foods. Expect a lively, balanced palate of Granny Smith apples, biscuit crumbs and white peaches.
Serve at: 7 to 9 degrees Celsius
Pair with: A wide range foods that includes cheese, seafood, salads and pastries
Delaire Cab Franc Rosé
After just four hours of skin contact to acquire its blushing colour, this wine is then made in the same style as sauvignon blanc to maintain its fresh fruit characters of ripe strawberries and cream followed by a crisp, dry finish.
Serve at: 7 to 9 degrees Celsius
Drink by: Within 8 years
Serve with: Fresh goat’s cheese and a crusty loaf, or a juicy steak
Grangehurst the Point Cape blend
A collaboration between Grangehurst Winery and Wade Bales has produced a Cape Blend exclusively for you. It’s a sublime blend of cabernet sauvignon, pinotage and shiraz – this is attributed to the magnificent Cape Point rock formation that forms part of the vista from Grangehurst across the False Bay. Matured in French oak barrels for 18 months, the Grangehurst Point Cape blend has red berries, plums and cigar box aromas; a youthful palate; lovely acidity; and creamy berries on the finish.
Style: Elegant and delicate
Serve at: 16 to 18 degrees Celsius
Drink by: Recommended 5 to 10 years from vintage
Pair with: Lamb kebabs grilled over the coals, an oxtail potjie or traditional waterblommetjie bredie
Cape Point Sauvignon Blanc 2018
The wine shows a complex array of green fig, passion fruit and apple combined with zesty orange and lime. The palate remains fresh and vibrant, with lively traces of Granny Smith apples, fresh pineapple juice and pears.
Style: Fresh, crisp and vibrant
Serve at: 7 to 9 degrees Celsius
Drink by: Enjoy now through to 2021
Pair with: Tomato gazpacho with prawns, Thai noodle salads, gnocchi with basil, goat’s cheese or roasted cherry tomatoes.
