When the news of a new Food Lover’s concept store opening on the Mother City’s foreshore was announced, it was met with much excitement by Capetonian inner-city residents and professionals alike.

Food Lover’s Eatery opened its doors in November 2015 and is located in The Towers building on Hertzog Boulevard in the city centre. In line with Food Lovers Market’s Theatre of Food shopping experience, which boasts a wide variety of affordable contemporary made-to-order dishes and convenience meal options for busy urbanites, the Food Lover’s Eatery concept offers a hot-food emporium with a distinct New York deli feel.

All meals are made fresh on the premises in the store’s 24-hour kitchen, which includes a bakery that produces a constant array of breads, doughnuts and cupcakes. Shwarmas and paninis are amongst the hot food available, and the extensive breakfast buffet is already a firm favourite. Fresh sushi, as well as comfort food like pizza, footlongs and burgers is available daily from the Grill Shack. Food Lover’s Eatery does not only cater for breakfast and lunch, but also as a quick takeaway dinner solution. The store boasts Halaal certification, with a variety of Halaal meals on offer on the second floor of the store.

The modern design sees a unique store layout, complemented by ample seating indoors and outdoors. As an added drawcard, there’s a Seattle Coffee Bar, Angel Berry Frozen Yoghurt and Dessert Bar, a Fruit Stop Smoothie Bar, and a Freshly Pressed Veg Juice Bar located in an adjacent space to the main store.

Food Lover’s Eatery is open for trading Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
