National Nutrition Week Dinner

On 9 October, celeb chefs Reuben Riffel and Margot Janse and Darren Roberts will be doing their bit to create awareness around National Nutrition Week (9–13 October) by hosting a fundraising dinner with a difference.

The menu will showcase ingredients such as soya relish, pilchards and breyani lentils, which is the staple diet for around 235 000 school children in the Western Cape who are fed by the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA). The restaurant already feeds 65 children from a local crèche, but the fundraising dinner is going to help ensure that children across the Western Cape are given a good meal at school each day.

‘Our guests are going to get a great meal but, more importantly, the R370 they pay for a single night out will be used to feed a hungry child for a year,’ says Reuben, who, along with Margot, will be ‘adopting’ five children and challenging guests to follow suit.
