The clever people at popular African food-lifestyle business Moyo are renowned for choosing unique locations for their restaurants. They’ve set up their vibrant venues on lakefronts, beaches, cultural precincts and wine estates. Their latest offering, Moyo Fountains in Pretoria, is situated in a beautifully restored farmhouse in the heart of South Africa’s oldest nature reserve, the Groenkloof Nature Reserve. Moyo celebrates Africa through its cuisine, music and décor and while the menus are similar at all the venues (fabulous Moroccan tagines to lekker hearty South African potjies), the décor differs at each venue. At Moyo Fountains you can expect an unmistakably Moyo-esque take, but with a traditional farmhouse feel. The original house has been sensitively restored – during the renovation process Moyo’s design team adhered to stringent environmental requirements keeping all things green – and is now a perfect weekend escape for city-slickers wanting to escape the frenetic urban pace.
