Lush lives up to its name, with a ruby-red bordello interior, oversized chandeliers, silver candelabra on every table and red Milano chairs on the waterside deck. It is a seductive stage for fare served with flair from friendly servers. White linen is the only stiff and starched texture.

The flavours on the plate are as lavish: prawn tempura with soya sesame and plum sauce, squid and chorizo salad with chilli, and kabeljou baked in harissa with wild fennel and leeks. Meaty fare for carnivores too, including Karoo lamb and springbok.
