There’s so much fear and uncertainty in the world right now, which is why when we come across a positive story like this one, shared by Good Things Guy, we can’t wait to spread the word.
Massimo’s in Hout Bay, Cape Town, has been busy figuring out a way to give back to the community during the lockdown. Massimo and his team have been running a pay-it-forward initiative since 2015, where their customers could buy virtual pizza slices and the restaurant would then deliver an entire pizza to a local charity or organisation. COVID-19, however, has forced them to come up with a new way to give back during the lockdown.
Enter BackaBuddy. Through this crowdfunding platform, Massimo’s has been on a mission to raise R150,000 – and they’re almost there. As of 15 April, they’d raised nearly R140,000. You can help them close the gap by supporting Massimo’s on BackaBuddy here.
You can also support your favourite restaurants through BackaBuddy or by buying a voucher via Eat Out. See which restaurants have set up BackaBuddy or vouchers on their restaurant listing. If you own a restaurant that has a voucher system in place, go to our Beyond Lockdown page to find out how to update your listing to let our readers know how they can support you during the lockdown.
