In the early weeks of December, city foodies will be able to savour the delicious Asian cuisine of popular Hout Bay restaurant, Kitima, when it opens its doors in the grand Mandela Rhodes Building off Wale Street.
After scouring through the many talented chefs in Thailand, Kitima has finally selected a fresh new team for the city bowl restaurant, which will be headed up by Jeyawat Suksathit (also known as Chef Nok). Chef Nok will lead the way in the new trend of Asian fusion at the CBD eatery.
Chef Nok and Chef Kuan (of the original Kitima) have been working on an exciting new menu, which will be paired with an intimate wine list. New menu aside, Kitima’s food offering will remain true to its traditional elements.
Meanwhile, an interior decorator from Thailand, Sunaree Lawanyawatna, has been brought on board to ensure the new restaurant has the same “welcome to Thailand feel” for which the Hout Bay eatery is known.
Kitima has yet to set an opening date but stay tuned to Eat Out for more details.
Did this ever happen? Can’t seem to find any more info on the new Kitima anywhere?
