A stylish new addition to the Mother Citys bakery-meets-eatery scene, is the stunning Josephine Patisserie et Boulangerie which has opened its doors in the new Church Square Piazza, in the heart of town.
At this state-of-the-art bakery and patisserie with its chic French-flavoured interior, Capetonians will be able to indulge in pastel-coloured macaroons, authentic French pastries and artisan style bread, all made with genuine French flour and butter.
The brainchild of local art director Ian Martin and entrepeneur David Rwayitare, the lavish Josephine will also trade in rich iced cakes, savoury flans, homemade preserves and coffee.
But who exactly is Josephine? Described as an Amelie-like character with a penchant for stealing hearts, recipes and hotel teaspoons, customers may well catch a glimpse of her, depending on the time of day – she is known to keep unusual hours…
