Cape Town’s bread king is at it again – this time he’s bringing coffee and his flaky golden croissants to the busy Camps Bay strip. Master baker Jason Lilley and Brigitte Lilley of Jason Bakery have partnered up Rui Esteves (co-founder of Vida e Cafe and CEO of andUnion) and David Chait (co-founder of Vida e Cafe and co-owner for Mr D) to open the new coffee shop and pastry hatch called Maison J with Pick ‘n Pay, which will open its doors on Tuesday 24 July.
Located alongside the Pick ‘n Pay store on the corner of Victoria Road and Camps Bay Drive, the new café will have a Parisian theme with hues of turquoise and white. It will offer shoppers and Camps Bay regulars a spot to pick up takeaway coffees and on-the-go pastries.
What’s on the menu? Expect mini savoury tarts, baguettes, bagels and Jason’s famous croissants. They’ll be celebrating the opening with a special deal: a croissant and a flat white for just R35.
Maison J will be Jason’s third bakery, joining Jason Bakery on Bree and Jason Bakery Green Point.
