Chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, South Africa’s first Michelin-starred chef, who has opened a restaurant in the Northern Cape, will continue to host lunches at his Kloof Street location. The Innovation Studio, which opened in 2019, is the creative hub for Jan and his talented team.

“Since launching our specially crafted lunches in February of this year, we have been overwhelmed by the popularity of our events,” says Jan. “Enjoy multiple tantalising courses – with elements from Nice all the way to the Kalahari – each paired with the most delectable fine wines from the Cape Winelands.”
The autumn lunch menu, which is available from Thursday to Sunday, features dishes like pap vichyssoise, brioche biltong lamington, apples with prawn, bouillabaisse velouté, and tête de moine as well as special dessert treats.
Guests are given the opportunity to explore the Studio Library’s collection of treasured cookbooks while embarking on a tour du fromage at the cheese table.

This lunch experience will cost R1,695 per person and is limited to a small number of guests, so booking is essential. The meal will include a wine pairing with six courses and a copy of JAN the Journal.
