The Grand Daddy Hotel opens Thirty Ate on Long Street

On Monday, quirky boutique hotel The Grand Daddy opened a new eatery, Thirty Ate, that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and takeaways.

Located on the ground floor of the hotel, Thirty Ate offers a menu that features crowd-pleasing favourites. Breakfast options include classic eggs Benedict, gluten-free pancakes with banana and berries, baked eggs with chorizo and crushed potatoes, plus fresh fruit juices, teas and coffees.

For lunch and dinner, the menu includes West Coast oysters and springbok loin with mushroom sauce. Those who are looking for a tapas-style bite to eat can tuck in to the charcuterie and cheese boards that are served on a lazy susan or munch on nibbles like mini chicken cordon bleus. Peckish worker bees can also grab a coffee and a sandwich of the week to take away or build their own with gourmet toppings such as pulled pork and crispy duck.  For those with a sweet tooth, desserts such as chocolate brownies and lemon cheesecake are on the cards.

The produce used is all locally sourced and bread is baked on site. The restaurant also offers an exclusively South African gin menu and a variety of craft beers, ciders, wines and bubblies.
