Visit Landskroon Estate for an evening of gourmet food and fine wine in the company of winemaker Paul de Villiers, on 31 October 2008.
The three course dinner at R249.00 per person, prepared by chef Jerome Desaivre of the Villa Belmonte boutique hotel, will include fresh green asparagus on hollandaise sauce with a phyllo basket of prawns and grapefruit, and fillet of ostrich with ratatouille, sweet potatoes and glazed root vegetables on a Landskroon Port and Merlot (vintage 2006) jus.
Dessert provides a decadent end to the evening – poached pear with aniseed and cinnamon on a mascarpone and gorgonzola sauce, accompanied by Landskroon Port 2004.
Landskroon is situated in Paarl, at the heart of the Cape Winelands. Its winemaking tradition dates back to the late 17th century when the French Huguenot settlers came to the region. Winemaker Paul is a 9th generation member of the De Villiers family, proudly carrying on the family tradition.
