One of Jozi’s new culinary gems can be located in one of Gauteng’s newest lifestyle hotspots: Central One Bar and Restaurant, at the super-stylish Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel, is quite literally next door to Sandton’s exciting Gautrain underground station.
The venue’s executive chef Mark Heller is already wowing hardcore Jozi foodies and trendies with his fresh, healthy and uncomplicated dishes, including specialities the likes of lobster cappuccino and his all-time favourite, the hangar steak.
“Central One Bar and Restaurant has many of the unique selling points customers seek from the hospitality industry these days. Not only does Central One Bar and Restaurant offer a high-end venue for corporate lunches during the day, but we also provide a relaxed and social environment in the evenings, too.
“Furthermore, the restaurant is conveniently located next to the Sandton Gautrain, providing easy access for all travelling clientele to a chic and stylish restaurant at which to dine in true Radisson BLU Gautrain Hotel style,” explains Heller.
The chef’s travels around the globe have provided him with the inspiration and skill to adapt foreign culinary methodology into his own cooking practice. “This has helped me to create the ultimate taste and splendour in all of my creations and, more importantly, to be part of a new food awakening in Africa,” he quips. Apparently, Heller has wooed many a celebrity with his culinary talents, including such luminaries as Nelson Mandela, Princess Diana, U2, Bryan Adams, the SA rugby team and many more.
He credits Central One’s fabulous menu to his team, who work cohesively with him to put out some seriously good food.
