Foodies the world over are heaving a unanimous sigh. The culinary Mecca that is El Bulli will soon be no more.
A recent article in the Diner’s Journal reports that the restaurant will close December 2011. In its place Adrià plans to open a school for advanced culinary study and experimentation.
This academy he says will seek students who have had high levels of professional training, and that it will be a place of free-thinking and a place to ‘kick around ideas about food.’ So, all those foodies who have had this restaurant on their bucket list better get kicking.
