It’s no secret that brunching is on trend. Known as the lazy person’s breakfast, brunch is the perfect meal to get you out of bed on a Saturday – eventually. Now, food-and-beverage events company MANGERmanje is launching a brunch pop-up every Saturday for a month in Braamfontein.
The three-course feast with bottomless cocktails will run every Saturday from June 24 to 22 July and will be hosted at Braamfontein’s trendy Bannister Hotel, directly opposite the bustling Neighbourgoods Market.
There will be three two-hour brunch sittings per day (at 10am, noon and 2pm) and the cost is R295 per person excluding gratuity. Brunchers can choose three options from the food menu, which includes a flapjack stack with toasted almonds and strawberries; house-made honey granola topped with creamy Greek yoghurt, fresh berries, coconut flakes, chia seeds, candied walnuts and edible flowers; shrimp and grits with corn salsa; curried tofu tacos; and Cajun tater tots served with cheese, chipotle, scrambled eggs and black-bean salsa.
As for the bottomless beverages, your choices include Absolut Vodka negronis, Singapore slings made with Beefeater Gin, a solgarita (twist on a margarita), and a Strongbow warm cider.
There is also the promise of further Brunch events to take place throughout the year with seasonal menus on offer.
