The Best Chef is a global community celebrating the talent, creativity, and impact of chefs around the world. Founded in 2015 by Polish neuroscientist Joanna Slusarczyk and Italian gastronomist Cristian Gadau, the platform focuses on chefs’ unique approaches, leadership, and influence on the culinary world. With a spotlight on individuals, The Best Chef recognises those who elevate cuisine and inspire the next generation.

Other South African chefs that were awarded were Mmabatho Molefe from former restaurant Emazulwini in Cape Town, Moses Moloi from Gigi in Johannesburg and Katlego Mlambo from Flames, Four Seasons in Johannesburg.
