Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant of the Year has been ranked 49th in the World

La Colombe, the iconic restaurant located in the heart of Cape Town’s Constantia wine region, has once again earned its place on the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. It also received the ‘Best Restaurant in Africa’ Award. This after being named Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant of the Year at the 2023 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards.

Coming in at number 49 on the list, the restaurant continues to impress diners with its impeccable service, quality of food, and breathtaking views of the Constantia Valley. This accolade not only underscores its commitment to culinary excellence but also highlights Africa as a global food destination to watch. FYN, also an Eat Out three-star restaurant, was recently ranked number 60 on the extended list (restaurants ranked 51-100).

La Colombe isn’t new to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, having been recognised multiple times over the years. In 2023, it ranked 56 on the extended list – which means it’s gone up seven places, a significant advancement.

Executive chef James Gaag says, “We’re speechless. It’s such an incredible honour for our team’s consistent work and dedication to be recognised at this level. To not only represent the La Colombe team – but, also our home city of Cape Town – on this stage is an immense privilege.
