In the world of food reality shows, there’s a new contender that’s ready to fire up the competition and ignite the taste buds of viewers everywhere. DStv’s latest culinary adventure, Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam, brings together 20 talented individuals from various backgrounds, all eager to put their fire skills to the test.
With award-winning chef Bertus Basson and braai expert Kobus Botha as judges, alongside a line-up of talented food and product specialists, as well as well-known personalities, the show promises to be a sizzling culinary extravaganza. Behind the scenes, the award-winning food writer and esteemed Eat Out judge, Herman Lensing, takes charge as the food producer of Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam, which is produced by Homebrew Films for kykNET.
Nestled along the mesmerising coastline of the Western Cape, Stilbaai provides the perfect setting for Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam. Its pristine beaches, lush greenery, and warm hospitality make it an ideal location to film a culinary spectacle.
Since its inception in 2013, the Kokkedoor series has brought delightful entertainment to families across the nation, featuring spin-offs such as Koekedoor, Kokkedoortjie, and Koekedoortjie. Now, Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam takes the concept to new heights, as ‘onthoubraaiers’ (people passionate about traditional dishes but who don’t have formal chef training or professional experience) and ‘kinkelbraaiers’ (people selected for their qualifications and/or experience in a recognised restaurant or professional kitchen) compete for the coveted title of Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam champion.
Don’t miss the excitement on kykNET (channel 144) starting Thursday 27 July at 8pm, as Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande makes way for an exhilarating display of fire skills and gastronomic brilliance!
