Col’Cacchio and top chefs raise funds for Red Cross.

Monday the 22nd of February saw the official launch of the Col’Cacchio Pizzeria Celebrity Chef Series at the franchise’s Camps Bay branch. It’s cooking with a conscience: six superstar chefs combining forces to conceptualise a series of gloriously gourmet pizzas that’ll help raise much-needed funds for the Red Cross Children’s War Memorial Hospital.

Donning customised black Col’Cacchio chef’s jackets, highlighted with dustings of flour, chefs Margot Janse (The Tasting Room), Mike Basset (Ginja) and Reuben Riffel (Reubens) deftly manoeuvred between tables with plates of piping-hot pizza like seasoned waitrons, chatting to star-struck foodies about their culinary creations as they went along.

Lubricating the social proceedings, the tipple of choice was Vrede en Lust’s range of fine wines, all perfectly paired with the chefs’ impressive spread.

Youll be able to get a taste of these celebrity creations from April 2009, for 6 months. R5.00 will be donated to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital for every celebrity chef pizza sold.
