Recently voted one of the “Best Places the stay in the World” in the annual Condé Nast Traveler Gold List 2010, Cape Towns Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa will be keeping visitors toasty this month courtesy of a whole lot of chocolate treats as part of their Memorable Moments winter promotion.
Chocolate Tea by the Sea will see the Leopard Room Bar pouring chilled guests cups of warming white-choc-and-cinnamon hot chocolate as they tuck into an array of sandwiches (think smoked salmon, cucumber and egg salad), Lindt chocolate chip scones with vanilla-infused cream and strawberry-preserve whipped butter, Lindt chocolate cupcakes with butter cream, mini chocolate ganaches filled with croquembouche, spiced choc and apricot tarts, and Ferrero Rocher truffles, at R95 per person or R165 for two.
Those suspecting that the chocoholic spread might send them into a diabetic coma can opt for the traditional Tea by the Sea, featuring lemon-meringue pies, mini koeksisters and buttery scones alongside a series of fragrant teas and coffees, which will cost R150 per stand.
