The Red Chamber in Hyde Park, has made a name for itself as one of Joburg’s most popular Chinese restaurants.

Expect more than your usual run-of-the-mill fare – the Northern Chinese cuisine is authentic Mandarin and great for ordering plenty of dishes to share.

Jovial Emma Chen offers fabulous food and you would be wise to be put on her mailing list for her speciality evenings. The Peking duck is among the best in town but everything is flavour-packed and fabulous. It’s also vegetarian-friendly.

Fair wine list and some Chinese beers. Service can be a bit erratic if the restaurant is packed.
