We’ve had a few questions regarding the bright, bubbly new wallpaper on our website. The answer is simple: we’re celebrating the fact that you can now buy wine from Eat Out!

With thousands of wines from hundreds of wineries across South Africa, the Eat Out wine store is just one more way to enhance your dining experience – be it at home or at one of your favourite restaurants.

How does it work?
If you know what you want, head to the “Choose my wine” section. Here you will find wines organised by genre – red, white, rosé, sparkling and dessert. If you need some help deciding, look at New Releases or Mixed Cases. If you don’t know your chardonnay from your chenin blanc, or are just generally overwhelmed by the selection (especially when you remember your brother’s upcoming birthday), you can buy a gift voucher.

Wines are all packaged either in six- or 12-bottle cases. The wine prices are quoted per bottle, depending on the case size. Wines are not sold separately per bottle – the per bottle price is merely for ease of comparison. You will find a drop-down box below every wine. To add a wine to you basket, simply select the number of bottles you want to purchase, and click on the "Add to Basket" button. This will put the specified number of bottles into your basket. This does not in any way oblige you to  purchase that wine, but merely selects it while you continue browsing. As you move around the store you can add as many wines as you like, but you only make your final selection when you go to the checkout page. When you are ready to purchase, you can finalise your order by going to the checkout. Simply click on the "proceed to checkout" button in your basket on the right-hand side of the page.

On the checkout page you can remove wines from your basket before deciding on the quantity of each product you wish to order. The shipping costs will appear once you have selected your destination and chosen the quantity of wine that you are buying. The total value of your order will then be displayed prior to finalising the order process.

Delivery times vary according to the destination and delivery method. It will usually take between five and seven working days door to door for major city centres, and could take a little longer for outlying areas.
