The talented young chefs in training, under the supervision of their lecturers, are hosting a Valentine’s dinner with live entertainment from the band Deca. If you would like an evening of music and fine dining, this may be the event for you. The students will showcase all their best fine-dining and hosting training with a three-course dinner that includes salmon gravlax, sirloin steak and delectable croquembouche desserts. This is an absolute bargain at R250 per person.

As Greek As It Gets (Menlo Park)

Enjoy live entertainment, the Lover’s Lane photo booth, a welcome drink and a three-course meal at this Greek eatery in the heart of the Greenlyn Village Centre. The newly open restaurant proposes a special Valentine’s Day meal during one of two sittings. You can visit them for lunch (12.30–3pm) or dinner (5–7pm) for R350 per person. Hot tip: they promise to help make it extra romantic for anyone with plans to propose!

De Kloof Restaurant (Waterkloof)

A romantic, gourmet Valentine’s experience is what the team at De Kloof are offering. Join them either on Saturday, 13 February at 5h30–8pm or Sunday, 14 February at 12h30–2h30pm. This gourmet meal is available at R495 per person; drinks pairing is optional at R255 per person.

LeSi Restaurant at Casa Toscana (Lynwood Manor)

Are you in the mood for a romantic, Tuscan Valentine’s feast? LeSi Restaurant plans to host an amazing three-course dinner at R950 per couple. The main consists of red wine braised lamb shank and mushroom risotto, followed by a decadent trio of mini desserts. Make a weekend of it by booking a room.

Casa de Jardim in Centurion is hosting a romantic, three-course dinner at R250 per person. They also have accommodation available if you want to make it a romantic getaway for two. The dinner starts on Sunday, 14 February at 15:00. The chef and staff hope to pull out all the stops to make this event extra special for guests on Valentine’s Day. Space is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Tiny Bakers (Centurion)

Share the love this Valentine’s Day, by enrolling your children in a class to teach them to bake red velvet cupcakes. This class is suitable for children between the ages of five and 12 years, and takes place on Saturday, 13 February. They will receive everything they need to bake with in the class, with 12 cupcakes to take home at the end of the day. They will also receive a snack and a drink during the class and the use of a Tiny Bakers apron. This fun foodie activity costs R300 per child and R100 per accompanying adult.
