Calling all up-and-coming food writers working in print – it’s not too late to compete for the title of Food Writer of the Year at the 25th Galliova Awards. This annual ceremony celebrates local writers who excel in the fields of food or health journalism, food styling and food photography.
This year the two main awards for Food Writer of the Year – one in the magazine category and the other for newspapers and weekly titles – are joined by three affiliated awards: Up-and-coming Food Writer of the Year; Health Writer of the Year and the Galliova Egg Champion. The 2014 winners will be chosen by a panel that includes Luke Dale-Roberts, head chef at The Test Kitchen, Eat Out’s reigning Restaurant of the Year.
All writers are required to submit an entry form no later than 19 September 2014. If you really want your entry to shine, include articles, newspaper cuttings, recipes or photographs that showcase your skills. All must be submitted in A4 hard copy alongside the entry form.
Finalists will be flown to Cape Town for the awards ceremony on 24 October 2014. If you think you’ve got what it takes, download an entry form from the official Galliova Awards page.
