While gin may not entirely be on its way out yet, a new spirit is taking the limelight – rum. Which makes Bree Street pop-up bar Rum Tum Tum’s timing perfect, with a Cuban rum bar vibe and a varied cocktail list.
Coming from Thirst Bar Service, a leader in South Africa’s mobile bar industry for over twelve years, Rum TumTum is shaping up to be a must-visit spot for summer. With brands like Havana Club rum headlining at the bar and other brands such as Corona and Fitch & Leedes all backing the concept, Rum TumTum aims for the look and feel of an authentic Cuban rum bar.
Cocktails are rotated monthly and Rum TumTum will soon introduce cocktails like piña coladas on tap. Another is the Litchi Samba, which has a glass draped in a banana leaf and topped off with a mint sprig and a litchi.
Look out for the murals on the walls, which make for a great background for your Insta pics. Rum Tum Tum is also constantly running competitions and various promotions, so keep a lookout for those deals on their Instagram and Facebook. (Plus you can win right here one Eat Out, with one of two Rum Punch Bowls for you and four friends up for grabs!)
Rum Tum Tum is open from 4.30pm to 1am Thursday and Fridays, and on Saturdays from 7pm to 1am. The pop-up will close at the end of January, so don’t miss out.
