Over the road, the Beverly Hills Hotel has launched a 5pm to 7pm special at Elements, which has spectacular sea views from the terrace.

Award-winning wines such as Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rose and La Motte Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc are a bargain at between R40 and R85 a bottle, plus there are snack platters on offer that are designed to be shared.

You can also have oysters on the rocks, or crunchy crumbed prawn tails served in shot glasses with guacamole, sweet chilli sauce and lemon crème fraîche.
