Nelspruit favourite The Food Fundi, which was highly commended at the 2015 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Best Everyday Eateries*, has expanded into new premises. In the beginning of April, the café moved from the site of its humble beginnings at ABSA Square to reopen just off the N4 highway into Nelspruit, in time for its fifth birthday.

Once a 60-seater café with a focus on coffee, The Food Fundi has re-launched as a daytime eatery with space for 100 diners, including outside seating where they can soak up the Lowveld sun. The new space has urban-themed décor and a revamped menu to reflect the season of autumn, featuring local farmers’ freshest ingredients and trout caught in Lydenburg.

The Food Fundi’s doors are open to weary travellers heading to the Kruger National Park or Maputo for a pit-stop breakfast or lunch in a modern, warm setting.
