A hunter’s evening at Rust en Vrede

If you fancy yourself a hunter with a taste for the finer things in life, join the sophisticated Rust en Vrede restaurant (pictured) for a special hunters evening on 22 August 2008.

Renowned hunter, story teller and gourmand, Nico Nel, will entertain guests with a few priceless hunting stories and some of his favourite dishes. The menu, including such carnivorous delights as Kudu, Eland and Denningvleis, will be accompanied by Rust en Vrede wines.

On the Menu
Terrine of  Puy  lentils, Foie Gras and Game birds with a warm salad of fresh peas and truffle.

Kudu and bean broth with warthog and coriander sausage, brioche and herb crust and a “rouille”

Eland loin dusted with a “biltong spice” resting on a “Denningvleis” and shiraz risotto and served with a quince confiture

Goats cheese baked in butter puff pastry together with a pear and apple salad
