A celebration of ingredients at Societi Bistro

The ever-popular Waterfront eatery, Societi Bistro, has introduced some mouthwatering winter food and wine pairing evenings, aptly named the European Festival – a celebration of ingredients.

Each week until 31 July, chef Dan Evans (pictured below) will create a three course meal inspired by a specific ingredient such as quinces, bread, chocolate, grapes, citrus and garlic.

The following pairings are planned:

Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Hartenberg wines – 30 May to 5 June

Bread and South Hill wines – 6 June to 12 June

Chocolate and Diemersfontein wines – 13 June to 19 June

Grapes and Groot Constantia wines – 20 June to 26 June

Citrus and Deetlefs wines – 27 June to 3 July

Garlic and Zonnebloem wines – 4 July to 10 July

Shiraz and Stellenzicht wines – 11 July to 17 July

Quinces and Durbanville wnes – 18 July to 24 July

Goats Cheese and Fleur du Cap wines – 25 July to 31 July
