While cheese and chocolate paired with wine will always remain matches made in heaven, wine’s flavour, aroma and mouthfeel actually complement a variety of sweet and savoury foods. From pizza pairings to crêpe cakes and MCC, here are five ingenious food-and-wine pairings around the Cape.
For only R150, indulge in four decadent, freshly baked cupcakes, each paired with a special wine. Expect a next-level experience with an all-new twist of an evergreen favourite that puts the Cape’s famous Floral Kingdom and Delheim’s eco-friendly winemaking front-and-centre. The experience is available seven days a week between 9am and 4.30pm at Delheim’s tasting room. Call 0218884600 or email info@delheim.com to book.
This extremely popular wine pairing sees seasonal homemade scoops paired with the estate’s popular wines. The events happen once a month with a different crêpe cake offering at each one. On 28 October, tuck into a variety of CocoaFair-flavoured crêpe cakes with flowing Steenberg MCC.
