Few things beat the utter bliss of a good drink in hand and a magnificent view. Thankfully, rooftop bars have us covered. These five spots in Jozi are the perfect places to wind down after a long week or to get the weekend started.
The spot for our first-ever Steak Out, this venue is usually closed to the public – except on Thursdays for their bar evenings. Purchase a ticket on their website then go to enjoy the spectacular views of the ever-buzzing Main Road and beyond. With sumptuous drinks as well as stir fry and sushi on offer, it’s a meeting of Oriental food and vintage charm with rustic décor.
Set in Maboneng, Living Room is for the cool kids, the woke kids, the eco-warriors, hipsters and everyone in between who wants to experience the true Joburg. At this vibey spot, urban revitalisation and eco-consciousness is combined with beautiful botany, a simple yet charming menu and, of course, great drinks. Sip on their signature cocktails with one of their tapas or platters, with options like the carnivore meat platter (featuring salami, Parma ham, spiced olives and ciabatta bread) or the chip cone – French fries served in a cone with a sauce of your choice.
If you’re looking for a lavish time out, the Southern Sun Hyde Park’s rooftop bar offers the perfect solution. With a full menu, including breakfast and sandwiches, you’ll be sure to have tasty eats at the poolside while looking out over the city. Also sip on something delicious from the impressive cocktail menu. Try one of their signature cocktails, like the elderflower-and-basil spritz or go for one of their jugs, like the Kraken Mai Tai. Wines include exclusive ones from the Nederburg and Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild auctions. All in all, this is definitely a great way to signal the end of a long week.
Experience an African sunset in the luxurious setting of the San Deck at the Sandton Sun hotel. Popular for epic selfies and its cosy seating near the three large firepits, this spot also has some great drinks and eats. Light meals served include sandwiches, hotdogs, seasonal soups and gourmet bunny chows. Enjoy it all on lounge seating while bopping to live music or a DJ’s tunes on the weekends.
If you’re fond of gin or whisky, this is the spot for you. Surrounded by murals, mosaics and the city skyline, here you can sip on select fine whiskies, gins and cognacs sourced from independent distilleries. If you get peckish, order up from The Nine Barrels downstairs, which offers tapas, charcuterie, a tasting menu and a small selection of mains. This is the place to be seen.
Good Morning i would like to enquirer for 6 people for a Christmas party lunch, how much per person and what do you offer, which dates and time do you have, menu as well.
