My husband and I went to McGinty's at Brightwater Commons, Randburg on St Patrick's Day for lunch to celebrate St patrick's Day and our Wedding Anniversary. As it looked like it could rain again and the outside tables were wet we went into the smoking section. No air con's were on in this area and the smog was unbearable so after a cigerrette we had to go and sit outside. We waited approximately 30 minutes for the waitress to take our order for lunch - the restaurant was not that busy. The waitress did not know the menu and what was included in the specials. After another long wait our food arrived. My husban's McGinty pie was steaming hot and my Liver and Bacon was luke warm. The gravy had a skin on it as it had obviously been left out while the pie was still cooking. We were unable to get hold of our waitress and I managed to eat some of the food. When my husband had finished eating our waitress did materialize but did not question why my food was basically untouched. I requested a doggy bag and the bill. The bill was presented as is - not in a folder, no sweets, nothing, just a slip of paper and then she, the waitress proceeded in trying to scoop the uneaten food into the container in front of me. A very bad experience and not what we have been use to from McGintys!
