Situated in a busy lane in the heart of Claremont’s CBD, this quaint restaurant is a haven of calm where Asian-inspired vegetarian fare, Nigiro finest leaf tea andORIGIN artisanal coffee are the order of the day. The owner Lisa Tsai explains the O’ways philosophy: “We wanted to create a peaceful, homely space where city-weary souls can relax and recharge, then pass on the happiness into the community.”
Central to the O’ways experience is tea – and the clued-up waitrons will advise you on which tea or infusion will best complement your meal. Tea is a complex beverage with different flavours, properties and health benefits. Whether you’re after an energising green tea or a calming herbal infusion, you’ll find what you’re looking for on O’ways’ extensive tea list.
Enjoyed a surprising feast of a lunch at O'ways in the form of their dim sum platter for 2. At R235 for 2 people, we felt it was good value considering the huge platter of steamed buns, dumplings, salad, edamame, and much more. It's served with your choice of tea. My Blood Orange Green Tea was really special. Amazing flavours, cosy atmosphere - a must-try.
Beautiful attention to detail. The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing.
Wow - an authentic Asian experience. I am truly in awe of the knowledge of Lisa the owner of this brilliant little cafe. She spent so much time with me explaining how to properly prepare tea and what to choose to serve at home. The food was some of the tastiest I have ever had, and to think - totally meat free. Well done oWays, wish you were closer to home so I could visit more often.
This is a gem from another world. One is transported by the serene ambience. The service is perfect, the vegetarian food sublime and unlike any other. The prices are so low, it is hard to believe. The coffee and tea excellent. What a treat!
