The Table at De Meye expands with new restaurant in Elgin

The Table at De Meye, a 2023 Eat Out star restaurant, has announced that it will be opening a second restaurant in the heart of the Elgin Valley at the picturesque Oak Valley Estate this November.

The new restaurant, aptly called The Table at Oak Valley, will be a sister restaurant to the already iconic and established eatery. Owners Leigh and Brendan Thorncroft share that the opening of The Table at Oak Valley was serendipitous, as the couple had been considering opening a second location.

“Opening a second restaurant has always been at the back of our minds, but it is a big step, and we wanted to be sure that we were ready. Oak Valley approached us a couple of months ago – we love the property and really feel like the space lends itself well to our style and concept,” says Leigh.

The location will be familiar to Oak Valley visitors, as the new restaurant is housed in the pool room, a spot that was previously taken up by the 2023 Eat Out star restaurant The Melting Pot.

Led by head chef Brendan, The Table at Oak Valley will offer a set three-course, sharing-style menu focusing on fresh and seasonal produce.

While the menu will share similarities with its sister restaurant, the owners will also be introducing some fresh plates. “We will serve many of our classic dishes that our regular customers have come to love but are so excited to create some new dishes using produce and products from new local suppliers in the area, who we are busy connecting with at the moment,” explains Leigh.

The restaurant will offer a range of exceptional wine varietals from the region, alongside the popular Oak Valley wines.

While farm-to-table lunches have risen in popularity over the years, Leigh shares, “We believe that our offering is still unique in our own way.”

In keeping with the theme of The Table at De Meye’s garden ambience and outdoor dining, the Table at Oak Valley will offer seating nestled under oak and fir trees, surrounded by the idyllic and thriving pear and apple orchards that the estate is known for.

“This location offers a wonderful dining area next to the gorgeous pool, in addition to the garden,” says Leigh.
