The Seabelle has a long history of serving up some of the best curries and seafood dishes on the KZN north coast, but one gets the impression that a few exceptionally challenging years have left their mark on this institution. While the staff remain enthusiastic and professional, the building, interiors, and sadly the food are no longer what they used to be. The kitchen lacked attention to detail, and some basic cooking techniques were executed poorly.
The wine list only consisted of Two Oceans, Graca, and Durbanville Hills.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. It is a pity that the restaurant is so quiet. After commenting on the homemade atchar on the table, they packaged some to take home which was thoughtful of them. The restaurant was clean and neat, despite being quite dilapidated.
The restaurant uses blue and green UV lighting, more suited to a bar or club setting. Despite being close to the beach, the views are completely obstructed by frosted decal on the windows, and the restaurant design does not flow outward facing the ocean.
