Our waitress Debra was absolutely amazing along with all the other staff. Greeted with a friendly face hosting us for the day, he guided us to our seats and if I hadn’t known our waitresses name I would’ve assumed we were being served by all the staff as they came over, chatted, and brought our food all together. I can’t stress enough how beautiful the ambience is, a light breeze and a beautiful view made our early Valentine’s Day something special. Now for the food: I will only be commenting on my food as I had a few bites of my girlfriends food however didn’t try everything together. Starters was Thai Chicken Livers with Brushcetta as I firmly believe chicken livers is a base standard to see how the kitchen works and all I have to say is damn… Best chicken livers I’ve ever had! Two slices of Bruschetta, one being the base for the livers and another on the side all lying in a bed of more-than-ample sauce. The balance of flavours were perfect and the chicken livers themselves had been cooked to perfection. No dryness or grittiness and I could tell that the livers had been cleaned properly. The peppadew beautifully cut the colour as well as the flavour. For mains I had the half a roast duckling and boy I didn’t realise just how much it would be. Beautifully presented, 2 big quarter legs of duckling on a bed of vegetables and what tasted like an orange jus. Flavour was well balanced but more to the sweeter side to accompany the sweeter meat and garnished with a caramelised orange and stick of rosemary. Mains get a complimentary bowl of chips to share with it which were also incredible. After powering through the massive mains, I ended it with a classical deep fried ice cream and Amarula butterscotch sauce. Everything was plated beautifully and truly felt like I had a 3-course artists meal. Thank you to Luq for hosting us, the amazing waitrons and staff that all helped us(Debra, Vicolene, Ben, and 3 others who’s name badges I couldn’t get a glimpse of), the incredible chefs in the kitchen, Mel, Zunia, and the rest of the kitchen team for making it such a special treat. I will definitely be a returning customer!
