Food

If you’re looking for a good burger or pizza behind the lentil curtain (in other words, if lentils are not your thing), Aegir in Noordhoek is a great option. And beer – let’s not forget the beer. They have a great selection on tap and, together with the good vibes, it’s the reason most people come here.

The food is very tasty, with some interesting Asian flavours (think Korean fried chicken burgers and a pizza with a misoyaki glaze) to add interest and excitement. The cheeseburger is everything you need a cheeseburger to be; the fish and chips delicious. Don’t overlook the snacks menu – their wedge salad charms with a wonderful variety of textures and flavours, and there are some delicious-sounding items (buffalo cauli wings; Mexican fries) that will turn your next game day into an experience.

Drinks

There’s a good selection of wines, but the focus here is clearly on beer – a variety of styles on tap, plus a few barrel-aged options as well! Beer-lovers will definitely be impressed. A few cocktails would make for a lovely addition to the menu.

Service

Service is friendly and welcoming, though could be a bit more attentive.

Ambience

It’s a spacious venue with loads of seating options available – inside (perfect for colder days), outside on the stoep (where they have gas warmers to warm your bones) or upstairs on the balcony, where things can get very vibey. Parents should note that it’s a nice, child-friendly venue with a fantastic (fenced) play area. The décor is simple and quite understated – but it works.
