Meet 25-year-old Chandré Adams, an aspiring chef and food journalist. She grew up in Mamre, a small town on the West Coast of Cape Town. Now Chandré is working at Damhuis, a beautiful beach restaurant in Melkbosstrand that is also a South African monument.

Chandré loves the homely feel and atmosphere of the restaurant and the team she works with. She especially loves working in the kitchen and the pastry sections. Chandré says she has learnt so many new skills, from baking and grilling to knife skills and health and safety, under the guidance of Chef Stefen and Chef Hein. Besides cooking, she also loves to write and draw. Whether she decides to become a chef or a food journalist, Chandré is on track and following both of her passions. We look forward to seeing what’s next in her culinary journey!
